Led by Founder Jon Maloney, the Go 2 team comprises a wealth of knowledge and experience, to ensure the service and experience provided are exceptional. Alongside our ambassadors, the Go 2 team will guide you all the way through the process from your first event up until graduation and beyond.
Jon Maloney
Founder / Managing Director
A three time All American and University of Montevallo Hall of Fame 2015 Inductee, Jon had a successful student athlete career scoring 70 goals in 75 games and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Jon still holds the record today for the most career goals scored in the Gulf South Conference. In 2020, Jon was awarded the Gulf South Conference Player of the decade and is still the only player in conference history to win the player of the year three times.
Having worked in the female college recruiting field since 2014, Jon has helped players attain incredible scholarship offers to some of the top colleges and universities in America including Florida State University, Northwestern University, Rutgers University, Fordham University and the University of Southern California to name a few. Along with this, he has built a reputation of not only sending quality players, but more importantly, good people to all different levels throughout the college game.
When it comes to placing players, Jon has great skill in identifying what would be the best fit for the individual. Having had a great experience at a small university with only 2000 students, he understands that everyone is different and looking for a unique experience.
Jon is married to Jules and they have two sons; Archie (10) and Grayson (4).
Ged Maloney
Parent Support & Career Advisor
Ged plays an integral part at Go 2 Event days as he provides an in-depth presentation to all new parents/guardians and is on hand to answer any questions they might have. He is also able to provide a parent's perspective from his experience of visiting Jon at the University of Montevallo.
Previously Ged held the role of Director of Women's Football at Harrogate Town AFC wherein he was heavily involved in the setup of the Ladies football team. Also a qualified referee, you may see him on the pitch making some questionable decisions!
With 30+ years experience in the sales and recruitment industry, Ged is on hand to provide support when players return to the U.K. whether it be with their CV/resume or general professional development.
Martin Powell
Head Coach
Martin is a UEFA B qualified coach and is the Go 2 College Soccer Head Coach for the Northern Events. With experience as Assistant Manager for Leeds United Women and Harrogate Town AFC Ladies, Martin brings a wealth of experience to the coaching team. Always on hand to give advice to players during the events, he will always go above and beyond for them. Committed to his own professional development, Martin is keen to reflect this in supporting player's reach their potential. He is an invaluable member of the Go 2 College Soccer Coaching Team.
Jodie Whitford-Stark
Head Coach
Jon and Jodie have worked together since 2013 when Jodie was first starting out on her coaching journey. Jodie is the Go 2 College Soccer Head Coach for the Southern Events and is extremely knowledgeable about the women’s game. Jodie was one of the youngest ever female coaches to get her UEFA B coaching badge and has not looked back since. She has worked for clubs such as Chelsea and Watford and also has coaching experience in America. Currently Head of Women's and Girl's football at Oxford United. Jodie is always striving to improve players both on and off the pitch.
Rosie Embley
Event Day Coach
Rosie is a former student athlete who had a great experience at the University of North Georgia where she spent four years as a student athlete. Having worked her way through the youth system at Everton, Rosie began her fantastic student athlete career in 2016, during which she played in 75 games, scored 17 goals and achieved 19 assists. Rosie also helped her team reach the NCAA D2 National Tournament twice, reaching the ‘sweet 16' in 2016.
Rosie regularly talks to the players at events, and on zoom presentations, about her time in America to provide players and parents/guardians with a first-hand insight into what life as a student athlete is like.
After finishing in America, Rosie went on to play in Spain with FC Malaga City and is now back studying for a Masters Degree and playing for West Bromwich.
Kelly Jackson-Powell
Goalkeeper Coach
Goalkeeper Coach and Head of Event Day admin, Kelly works with our goalkeepers at all of our Northern and Midlands events and was a standout performer for Harrogate Town Ladies when the team went through an unbeaten season in 2018. Alongside this, Kelly will usually be one of the first faces you see as she signs players in when they arrive at events. Alongside Ella, we believe it is key to have specific goalkeeper coaching for our players at event days and all the goalkeeper technical work is filmed for players highlight videos.
Ella Hunkin
Goalkeeper Coach
Goalkeeper Coach Ella works with the goalkeepers at all of our Southern and Midland events. Ella is a former student athlete having attended Delta State University before going to Italy to continue playing soccer and complete a Masters Degree. Ella was part of the Delta State team that made their first ever Conference Tournament in 2019 as a Senior, and then graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. Currently with London Bees, Ella plays a key part in working with goalkeepers at our events.
Natascia Bernardi
Event Day Coach
Natascia has a wide range of experience within the women's and girls game and is a UEFA C qualified coach. She is the girls academy manager at the Kinetic Foundation along with coaching the QPR Girls U12 as head coach. Natascia works at our southern events with the outfield players.
Shaun Channer
Event Day Coach
Shaun is an experienced coach at youth level having spent a number of years at Oxford United. He is now the Head Coach for Stevenage Women's Development Team. Shaun works with our outfield players at southern events and is an FA Level 2 Qualified Coach and FA Level 2 qualified in Talent ID.
Jack White
Event Day Coach
Jack is a former coach at some of the top midlands clubs including Leicester City and Aston Villa and has been involved in the women's and girl's game for a number of years. He is a UEFA and FA qualified coach and works at a large number of our events and showcases.
Emily Senior
Event Day Coach
Emily is a UEFA B qualified Coach and FA Mentor and has been involved with us for a number of years. Emily is now Manager of the Women's First Team at Bradford City AFC, having previously headed up the women's and girls program at Huddersfield New College where a number of players have come through the ranks at Go 2 College Soccer and are currently out in America as student athletes. Emily works with our outfield players at northern trial events.
Jules Maloney
Head of Operations
Jules has over 10 years experience in data management and analysis. She looks after the day-to-day operational issues and also implements larger scale systems to ensure the Go 2 operation runs smoothly, efficiently and effectively!
